Signs for an Ac Repair

Sure-Shot Signs that It’s Time to Call for an Ac Repair

Signs for an Ac Repair: 5 Best Key points to Know

With a top company for AC repair in Dubai, you can be rest assured that your investment on the AC is in safe hands. An annual maintenance is usually recommended to be done every year, to keep your AC running optimally. Here, however, you may argue that all of this is nothing but a waste of time and money, but the question is- how will you even know if a maintenance or servicing is required, unless a skilled technician comes up and inspects all components on the day of maintenance and check signs for an Ac Repair?

The importance of this maintenance service is to prevent possible breakdowns of your AC in the long run, and maximize its efficient and optimal functioning. Hence, here are a few signs you need to look out for, to determine instantly whether you need to call in a reliable AC servicing company:

  1. An air conditioning system that’s been functioning for over 10-12 years and beyond, is at high risk of developing sudden mishaps. Any kind of disturbing noise, including thumping, rattling, grinding, or buzzing, might indicate an underlying issue that needs a fix. Look for a renowned company for AC servicing in Dubai to inspect and determine the best solution for the issue.
  2. In case you notice a moldy or burning smell coming from your AC, turn it off immediately and call for an experienced enough company for AC repair in Dubai.
  3. If you notice that your electric bills have been increasing over the past few months unusually, it might be due to higher power consumption because of additional work put in by your home cooling system. You might want to get it checked by a good company for AC servicing in Dubai.
  4. An AC is supposed to maintain the same optimal temperatures throughout the room and all its corners. In case you find uneven temperatures, you (and your family) might fall sick if you don’t get your AC inspected and fixed.
  5. The ductwork of an AC is a vital component that’s often neglected or overlooked. If dirt and debris get accumulated, you might start feeling dusty or unpleasant on turning your AC on.

Tips for Keeping your Building’s Topmost Floor Cool

Keep the top floor cool: 8 Tips to Remember

The AC is not just a luxury these days- it adds much more to life, and especially in a city like Dubai where the heat of Summer is unbearable, the AC is nothing less than a basic amenity these days. Especially in the Summers, you may often find that the topmost floor of your home is usually the hottest, and keep the top floor cool as you go downstairs. This is mostly due to the direct rays of the sun heating the roof just above it, and the windows and doors that allow these direct rays to come in, if left open. Your ceiling fan further spreads this warm and uncomfortable air around the room quickly from the roof. Thus, keeping your AC in top- notch condition with our renowned company for AC servicing in Dubai is essential.

Here are a few tips on how you can keep the top floor cool during the Summers, that can provide quick solutions to making this space more comfortable:

  1. Keeping all blinds and shades closed has been found to be a traditionally effective measure to block sunlight and keep the heat out. You might also want to try out heat-blocking shades and UV-blocking films. Sealing the cracks, holes and any other form of gaps around windows and all throughout the space can help prevent air from “leaking” in.
  2. Sealing your roof (and attic) by adding extra insulation will help prevent heated air from seeping in.
  3. You can simply avoid generating the additional heat upstairs by keeping lights dimmed or turned off. Also, try limiting the use of appliances that generate heat, for instance, dryer, iron, dishwasher, stove, and oven, to downstairs itself.
  4. A dirty or clogged air filter can block the cool air from blowing in. So, keep changing and replacing them regularly, to prevent such blockage.
  5. Keep the thermostat on the “on” mode instead of “auto” so that the blower fan keeps running constantly to create a mix of air throughout this space with appropriate fan settings adjustments.
  6. You can even create climate zones at your home- and you can do it yourself by closing a few AC vents on the floor below, so that more cool air from your AC is forcefully directed upstairs.
  7. You might be surprised to know this- fans don’t cool rooms. In fact, they only speed up air circulation to keep you cool. So, save some energy by keeping them turned off whenever you’re not in the room, instead of trying to cool the space by letting it remain turned on.
  8. If all your efforts go in vain, it probably means that your space is too large for your current cooling system. Then, you can try upgrading to a larger air conditioning system, or getting another AC installed for the topmost floor.

Wherever you’ve installed your AC, our highly skilled, knowledgeable and experienced team for AC servicing in Dubai will eliminate all hassles for you. In case you’re facing issues with your AC, your search for the best AC maintenance company, thus, ends with us- even if you’re looking for split AC repair in Dubai. Keeping your ac functioning optimally

Your Guide to Keeping Your Ac Functioning Optimally

While some of us just seem to love fixing and sorting out things all by ourselves, there exist some who love breaking things, too! Whichever of these two categories you might fall into, there is a third category of people as well- these people just love to keep things going as much as possible. We’ve been talking about cleaning your AC’s indoor and outdoor units, air filters, ductwork, and so on. This time, however, let’s not dig deep into fixing an issue- let’s talk about keeping your AC functioning optimally all Summer long. And, if you personally don’t mind getting your hands dirty sometimes, then maybe you, too, can develop the love to keep it functioning optimally.

First, regardless of whether you have one or two condensate drains, following are the steps to keep them draining properly. However, before you start doing anything else, remember to turn the power of your air conditioning system off. Don’t just use the thermostat to turn it to “off” mode, but also shut down the circuit breaker or power connection to both the indoor and outdoor units. This will ensure to keep the entire cooling system turned off while you perform the steps mentioned below. And, more importantly, this will prevent you from any injuries if you accidentally touch a wire or a terminal inside the units.

  1. Use a wet/dry vacuum to get clog cleared out, if you’re dealing with a clogged line. These clogs in a condensate drain line of a central cooling system are usually caused by a build-up of moulds and algae, and other microbial growth. A wet/dry vacuum can easily pull such obstructions out of the pipe. However, remember that once this line is clear, the chances of algae and mould build-up in the drain pan increase, which may now be able to easily flow in through the cleared pipe, resulting in more clogs within a short time.
  2. Clean up the drain pan. Well, the drain pan will obviously be wet- but it should be free from standing water. If water gets puddled up in the drain pan, then there is definitely some sort of a problem with the drain. The first step mentioned above almost always solves this issue. The wet/dry vacuum is also helpful here at the indoor unit, although, depending on its location, it may sometimes be more difficult to be accessed with a wet/dry vacuum. You can use rags if you need, to clean out the pan, along with a mild mixture of water and dishwashing soap. Be very careful, however, when you work around the indoor coil, since the metal fins on it are very fragile and delicate- even a slight bump on them can result in damage.
  3. Now, getting back to the drain line, simply using the wet/dry vacuum to remove whatever was obstructing it doesn’t mean the job is done and it’s cleaned. The cause of the clog will return faster again if you leave it as it is. To clean the drain line, you can try one of these methods, depending on whichever suits you best-
    • distilled vinegar (apple cider vinegar won’t work as well as white vinegar since it has sediments in it),
    • hydrogen peroxide, or
    • warm water,
-mixed with a drop or two of dishwashing soap. Pour your preferred solution into the drain line through the vertical vent tube that is likely near the fan coil unit. After letting it stand for about half an hour, wash it out with water. Here, you might want to ask someone to help you by watching the water come out from the other end of the drain pipe. When it starts to come out all clear, you know you’re done with it.
  4. And, well, if you don’t have a wet/dry vacuum, you can try using a clothes hanger made of wire to push into the drain line and see if that frees up the blockage causing the clog. This, however, will only work if the blockage is somewhere within the first bend of the drain line. If you can get yourself an air compressor, then you can also try blowing out the line to clear the clog. If you still can’t get past the clog, then you will want to call in your preferred company for AC repair in Dubai.

So now, with a clean drain line and clean drain pan, let’s take a look at a few details of your drain line to make sure everything is running well and good:

Firstly, you must ensure that the drain pan in or under the indoor unit is at a slight angle sloping down towards the drain line. Otherwise, there will almost always be a slight build-up of water in the pan, leading to much faster return of the algae blockage.

Secondly, make sure that there is a drain trap (also known as a P-trap, S-trap, or U-trap) just as the drain pipe comes out of the indoor unit. If not, and also if the drain line does not have air blowing out of it, then there’s certainly a problem that calls for AC servicing. A drain trap is required to overcome the suction of the air that’s being pulled in through the pipe. It allows the water to drain out, even when there’s a slight suction pressure from the blower fan in the air handler unit.

And lastly, ensure that the drain pan safety switch is working properly. This might be mounted on the pan, or in some newer systems, it might be a device attached to the drain line. The main thing is that, if the drain gets clogged, then this switch will shut down the central cooling system to prevent a potential disaster which could be resulting from the condensation water that builds up and starts pouring into your house from the fan coil.

AC servicing

Amazing Facts you Didn’t Know about the Ac!

Let’s face it- your AC has become an important part of your life by now, isn’t it? Similar to caring for your loved ones, air conditioning repair and AC servicing becomes top priority as soon as you observe even the tiniest of abnormalities in your cooling system, right? But, how much do you actually know about this cooling system that keeps you cool all through the heat of Summers?

Here are a few interesting facts that might help getting to know your AC better:

The AC used to be a top marketing investment for movie theatres in the early 1900s- literally!

During the early stages when the AC had just entered the market and started gaining popularity, most people didn’t have an AC at home. Taking advantage of the situation, owners of movie theatres started investing more on ACs in their theatres to fill them up even in the hottest and most sticky Summer days of the year. And, the strategy actually worked well- the theatre had become the common place for the weekend escape!

The AC has actually evolved out of the first widely known factory- scale cooler.

Yes, the first AC was neither designed for comfort nor luxury. It were the ideas of a publishing company worker, Willis Carrier, in 1902, that developed the first factory- scale cooler.

Before ACs, ice kept people cool.

Obviously, it’s not like people didn’t exist in the world before the invention of an AC. Big ice blocks were used to keep people and things comfortable through the Summer heat. Also, the output of the world’s first AC was measured based on the quantity of ice that would be required in order to achieve the same cooling power.

Without AC, the warmer states of the world would hardly be resided in.

With the invention of the AC, the population of places like Texas, Florida, and other hotter states increased considerable, when ACs became more popular and began to be installed in homes and offices, too.

Well, your medicines can’t survive without the AC, too!

Modern medicines, that help fighting everything from cough and cold to nausea and stomachache to cancer, are developed in labs having temperature-sensitive tools and equipment.

Summer vacays were primarily borne because of the absence of ACs.

Before ACs started gaining vast popularity, it used to be way too hot for kids to attend schools during the Summer months. Thus, the idea of Summer vacations was born, and has been around ever since.

The AC can be quite helpful for those suffering from asthma or are more prone to allergies.

ACs circulate the air in rooms, thus removing allergens and dust particles from inside to keep you and your family breathing in air that’s safe and healthy.

Your AC is actually quite a cool machine, and in you need an emergency service for air conditioning repair in Dubai, we’re just a call away. You must never overlook or neglect unusual activities in your cooling system, or leave it as it is until working hours- you can contact us 24/7 for air conditioning repair and AC servicing, among other AC-related issues.

Your Ac’s Power Efficiency

Factors Affecting Your Ac’s Power Efficiency

When you buy a new AC, you may have noticed the star ratings on it- well, the more the star rating it has, the lower amount of electricity it consumes. Buying an energy- efficient AC can be a vital factor when it comes to the need to have it running throughout the days and nights, and specially so if you’re residing in the extreme weather conditions of Dubai. In such case, 5-star AC is required to limit the energy consumed per day. However, if an AC is required to run for a few hours in a day only, then 3-star could be an option. For those who are unaware,

  • 1 ton of cooling requires 1,000 watts of electricity;
  • 2 tons require 2,000 watts;
  • 3 tons require 4,000 watts; and so on.

However, here are a few factors that determine the power and energy consumption of your AC:

1. The number of people present inside the space.

If the room usually consists of more than 10 people, a larger size AC or more than 1 AC is required for sufficient cooling- for example, at offices, halls, and party or commercial spaces. This, automatically, leads to more power consumption (and hence, higher electric bills) needs for your AC. With fewer people in the room, lower body heat will be released; hence, single AC is enough, thus consuming much lower energy.

2. The size of space to be cooled, depending on temperature outside.

A larger room will contain heat in its air spread over larger area, that needs to be driven out by the AC which has to work for longer time duration, compared to a room that is smaller in size. Also, if the temperature at the time is much higher where the smaller room is located, an AC may take longer time to drive out the heat, compared to a larger room located at a place having lower temperature, depending on the temperature that needs to be achieved.

3. The presence of other electrical appliances within the space where your AC is installed.

Electrical appliances in the room, too, generate heat, to cool which an AC is required to make additional efforts. The lesser the number of appliances, lower is the power consumed by your AC to achieve the desired optimum temperature.

4. Other items confined to this space.

All hard surfaces in the room, too, get cold while your AC is running. This also puts some additional pressure on your AC’s overall power consumption. Further, if doors are kept open, the air keeps circulating across rooms, thereby making your AC put in some unnecessary cooling efforts, too.

ac servicing

Signs that Your Ac Needs Some Servicing

Although servicing your AC is highly recommended to be done at least once in a year, and going for it during Spring is usually the best timing, you might still get warning signs that your AC isn’t all good to go. A few of them are listed below so you can get your AC servicing done before a minor issue turns major.

Leakages

Mostly resulting from blocked drainage or a leaking refrigerant, excess moisture or leaks are, no doubt, a sign of an underlying problem. In such a situation, you should get in touch with a good service provider for home maintenance in Dubai, instead of trying to sort it out by simply placing a bucket underneath.

Vibrations

This is especially common in Window ACs, and is an obvious sign that an AC servicing provider must be contacted, although the fault may be as simple as a faulty installation.

Strange sounds

ACs generally produce a repeated “white” noise which is quite pleasant to the ear. However, if it suddenly starts making unusual and weird noises, you must get in touch with the best AC servicing around beforehand, to ensure that the unit does not need to be replaced.

Frequent cycles

ACs should have relatively routine cooling cycles- they shouldn’t turn on-and-off constantly. If you suddenly notice frequent cycles in your AC, even if it is the hottest day of the Summer, you must get a good AC servicing done immediately or as soon as possible, because this might be a sign that you need to get it replaced with a new one.

Higher than usual electric bills

Keep tracking your electric bills. If you notice a spike in months when you’re using your AC, it could mean that something’s not right- especially if you keep a note of whether you’ve been using it in an efficient manner, for example, preventing open windows or leaks in the room before turning it on, setting the ideal temperature and mode at the right time, and so on.

Warm air

In case you notice your AC not cooling the room as effectively, or blowing out warm air instead of cool air, it’s time for you to contact an AC servicing expert or professional. The compressor may have broken, or the refrigerant may have incurred a leak.

Another sign often neglected is unpleasant odors caused due to microbial growth. Our AC servicing and home maintenance in Dubai can help determine which one’s necessary for your case- a quick cleanup or a complete one, and go ahead accordingly.

As a safety and precautionary measure, you SHOULD get in touch with an AC servicing professional as soon as you notice any of these signs. And, get your AC serviced at least once a year, even if you don’t notice any such sign, to ensure it keeps running smoothly in the near future too.
